We’re Project Home Unity - a grassroots peer-led social support service founded by a team of queer, disabled young adults with a passion for change. Through the healing power of community, and individualised support in the home, we are determined to improve social outcomes for LGBTQI+ community members.

  • to empower rainbow youth, families, and persons with disability to cultivate supportive connections in the home and community.

  • At Project Home Unity, we vaue PRIDE:

    Passion
    Resilience
    Inclusion
    Diversity
    Empowerment

  • Our service is uniquely community-led, utilising a peer support framework. Underpinning our service delivery is our practice framework, based on psychosocial theory and practical, lived experience.

Meet the Team

  • "[Support with] Liza as support co-ordinator, and Cairo as primary support worker...was nothing short of miraculous."

    Kirstin

  • "The staff at Project Home Unity aren't just efficient and helpful, but also friendly and kind."

    Client

  • "It took me a lot of courage to admit I needed support for my disability and when I did I am glad to have chosen PHU. It feels in alignment with my values to be supporting a local queer and trans owned and run small business - that my support worker is a peer across multiple intersecting identities has meant I feel safe to be myself and lean into the support. I am very satisfied with the support I am receiving and would highly recommend PHU to other disabled LGBTQ+ people and LGBTQ+ people with disability."
